The Forest

Talon moved quickly towards the rock he has been sheltering in for a couple of weeks. He found the forest to be the best place to be in, for its reach prey and warm weather. His life was perfect there, and he would stay there forever if he could. But Talon knew he had to keep going. It was dangerous to stay in one place for a long time, but he haven't encountered any hostile dogs yet in the forest.

Lakota moved slowly along her tail swishing back and forth salmon pink tongue rolling across the roof of her mouth as hunger gripped her sides. Eyes gleamed with exhaustion as her good mood churned into a lousy one.  Eyes glistened as she collapsed on the ground letting out a howl for food before closing her eyes. Her chest heaved slowly as her tail was tucked neatly underneath her legs.

Talon pricked his ears. Surely he haven't heard anything? He could swear he heard  a howl, coming from the north part of the forest. He padded to the direction where he heard the howl come from, and found himself looking at the limp body of a dog, surely a husky.

Eyes slowly opened glistening with exhaustion. Yet a burst of energy found her and her once limp body churned into a scared dog.She backed away opening her mouth letting out a growl before leaping forward locking her jaws onto the dogs leg. Fear hit her yet she did not hurt him yet warned him that she would bite if he did not talk. She was in a angered state that was not submissive and would break a leg at any moment.

"Ow!" he yowled. "What's the matter with you?" Talon shook his leg angrily, and shook his loose neck mane as well. He has never seen such dog act like that. Maybe he gave her the idea that he was trying to be dominant over her? He didn't seem like it. Or maybe she thought she looked as if she was in a submissive state. "I found you here," He continued. "What happened? You look as skinny as a bat..."

Lakota heard the male explain himself. Eyes softened as she unlocked her jaws licking the metallic taste off her mouth before speaking. "I am sorry I acted like that. And I am simply starving" she looked down at her stomach which was bony. A weak breath slipped from her throat as she asked simply "I need food..could you get me some? And I am Lakota.." her voice was low and forgiving. Yet her tail was still raised. Her muscles gave in and she fell to the ground a angry growl slipping from her throat.

Talon was surprised. "Of course, I have a lot of spare prey. Let me get you some. Talon walked towards his sheltering place under the rock, and took out bird and a duck for them to eat. Talon then padded back towards Lakota, and dropped the duck next to her. "My name is Talon. I am currently living in the forest, and I am planning to leave soon. I do think you should come with me, in your state" He explained

Lakota saw the duck and began chewing on it taking parts of meat and as much as possible. Even cracking the bones for the nutrition of the bone marrow. Hunger continued to grip her sides yet she was listening and spoke quickly "Well I don't know.. I barely know you.." she was still wary of the male and pretty darn nervous. Yet she felt thankful that he shared the kill "Thank you so much!" she said smiling licking blood off her face before chewing on the bones and the rest of the scraps.

Talons eyes grew wider than an owl's. "You eat the bones? That is madness!" He joked.

Tail flickered as her gaze churned back upon the male her tongue swiping over her muzzle again. "Of curse I do silly. It is where most of the yummy stuff is!" she snapped before going back to chewing on the spine.

Talon hesitated, then took a hard bite out of the leg bone of the bird. She was right; it is very delicious. "You are right" Talon admitted, his mouth full of the bone.

Lakota smiled as he took a bite. Eyes gleamed as she got up looking down at the cracked open bones. "I will bury the rest for Tomorrow breakfast." she said smiling.

Talon nodded, and as she buried the remains, he looked up at the sky to find it was darkening. They had to hurry if they wanted to get back before darkness is upon them. Talon shook his fur once more. "We must go hurry, if we want to be back before it's dark. I may even hunt if there is anything to find."

Lakota looked up as well the sky getting darker. A chill ran thru her spine as she heard a wolf howl in the distance. "Lead the way.." she said yipping in fear.

(Oh, you are? Lol, Ok. Sory. I felt you would and I was like WTF is going in? XD Ok back to the getting dark thing X3)

Talon also looked up. He knew how to find his shelter by the moon and sun, so he was all good. "Let's go." He waved his tail sideways to signal her to follow him through the forest. After some moments they arrived. "Here it is. The shelter. We can spend  2 or 3 more nights here. Then we can move on."
He called after his back, glancing at Lakota and seeing she was keeping up well with his quick padding.

Lakota smiled before darting in her tail swishing side to side sitting in the snug den. She let out a stiffled yawn before smiling saying "Sorry I am just terrified of darkness.." her voice was scared and submissive before she stretched out moving to the far back before nestling down in the soft bedding of moss and leaves. Her blue eyes only staring at him for a few moments before closing slowly. Soundless breaths escaping her maw.

Talon watched her fall asleep, and then curled up a little way next to her and tried to fall asleep. He was thinking and thinking, and the sleep never came to him. He finally closed his eyes shut and forced himself to go to sleep. It would all feel better tomorrow. 

(Btw, I am gonna be less active once school starts. I will have to focus on freaking middle school and it's high expectations... :/)
